I had a recent paid upgrade for Mrs. tardyturtle to C+. We had to voluntarily cancel the flight. I asked if I could be refunded the single-segment upgrade fee and I was told it was nonrefundable. I knew this was the policy, and I didn’t push it because the CSR was nice, but YMMV if you push it.
