Stayed at Hilton Toronto earlier this year - initially south facing room for one night, checked out, and then had to extend at the last minute, so the next night I got a north facing room. Definitely preferred the north views, there is a beautiful courthouse etc to the north. South was generic office buildings and CN tower, nothing exciting. Executive lounge was closed. Lukewarm recognition of elite status. They also accidentally gave me an occupied (older appearing) room on a lower floor, so to make up for it, I got upgraded to a nicer, renovated high floor room. Breakfast was grab and go in the morning, but the breakfast guy was very generous. Excellent Thai restaurant nearby, "PAI" - probably the best Thai food I have had on this continent.
