If I cancel and rebook into F, UA will refund the original charge and charge the new ticket price to my card, which won't fly. (Forgive the pun)
But if I TOD upgrade on my own dime, the original charge stays as-is, and the client isn't aware/affected.
One can't upfare to next class of service by paying the fare difference ($433 in this case?) with another card? Either via a UA agent or on the website (by "Change Flight", not the upgrade offer)?
