I know it's a bit troublesome to do this, since you can only do this by calling BAH, but I notice the CE seats are going as redemptions. So depending on whether your ticketing, you may be able to Upgrade using Avios to CE, for around 7,000 Avios, which is almost POUG like in terms of effective cost. It may even be worth buying Avios compared to other alternatives.
I managed to get through to BA today and asked for a cash upgrade price…£600pp.
The buying avios idea is a very good option - the only pitfall is there are 2 seats and 3 on our booking. So we would have to split the booking which is hassle. Can you see my concern is hassle and not leaving someone alone in row 30
I may ask at the airport if there are any cheap upgrades going, or even ask if there’s a spare window seat just for landing.
