I was okay with the general surgical type mask (the blue ones) until I started wearing KN95 masks. I found the KN95 kind of mask much more comfortable because it sits away from your nose and mouth. With the surgical mask, when you breathe in, you kind of suck the mask into your nose and mouth (especially if you are a mouth breather). The KN95 also hold up better if you want to remove it and put it in your pocket.
