Yes, but you need to factor in the opportunity cost of your spend. If you have an Amex Platinum, I'm not sure it's worth going through Bonvoy. I value 5x MR > 10x Bonvoy. If your best alternative is just a CSR or something, it's probably still worth it but not as lucrative as something like eBay spend.
Not sure how PayPal works with the travel insurance too.
