I've stayed here numerous times over the past 3 years. I don't mind the location, love the outdoor lounge/bar/restaurant, and appreciate the Stumptown coffee at Hideout. Yes, some of the elite (i.e., breakfast benefits) are weak, but at least they seem to honor SNAs better than many other Bonvoy properties. Additionally, they frequent have gov't rates available for work travel - unlike most other Waikiki Bonvoy properties (except the Princess Kaiulani). A once-in-a-lifetime trip to Hawaii, no; but, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here on a business trip or layover. YMMV.
