Hello, I'm looking for some advice. I had cheap award tickets JFK-ZRH Dec 25-31, which were direct flights on Delta metal that got cancelled this SCS. I'd like to keep those dates and get myself rebooked but there is very little economy award inventory available - as of the time of this writing there is literally nothing outbound that shows up for me, and only some ZRH-AMS-LHR-JFK misery on the way back. (My original flight also arrived back in JFK in the afternoon with enough time for a nap before NYE, which these do not.) Online self-service refuses to touch my itinerary, the agent I talked to wasn't able to offer me anything, either, and the specialty desk she called wasn't able to open up any new inventory.
What to do? I assume more flights on Christmas and New Year's aren't likely to show up on the schedule. Hold out for more award inventory opening up in the coming weeks? Individual segments that work seem to be bookable with miles - can I ask to have those strung together? Chances of success over messaging app vs PM phone line?
