I have had multi-night stays in which all but one night were fully comped, and I received credit for the entirety of the stay.

My guess is that the automated MLife process sends Hyatt the check-in date, check-out date, and the eligible rate total. Hyatt then averages that total across the stay to arrive at an average daily rate. If that ADR = 0, no nightly credit.
