Agreed, but as I and others have said, after many successful uploads since last March, for some reason my (Hawaii) vax card is not being accepted in ST anymore. So Clear is my only option. I have been in contact with ST and there is no fix at the moment. Clear remains a very good option if you want that instant exempt status.

I uploaded my card once and that's all I've needed to do (been through the process 10X+). While at the AS desk getting my wristband a couple days ago I could see the person pull up my card (saved in the system) on her screen and look it over before giving me my wristband. I had the hardcopy with my but she never asked for it. All I did for Safetravels was register a new trip and answer the health questionnaire and got a QR code (so, no applying for exemption, etc.). I stopped paying attention to the red/green check marks since it just seems random and inconsistent. As long as you have a QR code and physical vax card I think everything else can be worked out at the airport.
