Funny quirk about SQ booking system, if the intended destination has some sort of restriction they will not show flights. I was looking for MEL to HKG via SIN and no flights available. If I searched MEL to SIN then SIN to HKG there was plenty of availability. KF call centers told me this was due to HKG restrictions on passengers transiting in SIN.

Perhaps those who can't find availability to certain destinations is due to SQ blocking them?
