I would wait 3-5 business days after the account is open and successfully funded. I posted my data points on about page 27, around April 15, and I had some delays because I applied too early, causing Amex to reject my initial application. I get the impression that MS and Amex's systems don't always communicate/integrate quickly.
Since you're not bothering with the fee reimbursement, you are eliminating some of those hassles already.
If you happen to apply to early, Amex will reject your application and send you a letter, and a quick phone call should cause them to approve the application.
I would wait till mid to late this week and then pull the trigger, assuming your MS account is already fully funded. Good Luck.
