I have had a few flights recently were there are no passengers in rows 8,9,10,11 and 12. Club passengers are relocated to cover take off and landings. As a goldie in row 13 it smarts a bit.
Here is a case in point. My Friday 11am flight this week from Malaga to LHR. I do this route often and will be picking up a hire car, won't be hitting the bar so not fussed about boozing. As a gold I get the lounge anyways and will travelling without a bag so the extra kilos is of no use to me either. The food on offer may not be hot so is of little consequence as well. If I could bag the exit seat I would prefer it but its either row 13+ or pay to upgrade to Club for €79 (which I have)....
