The outbound seemed fine in terms of what was loaded with plenty of bubbles and seemed like every person in the cabin had the shepherd's pie (which was alright) -- the return was pretty much the opposite.

Bubbles were finished at row 4 on the first bar round. Tomato juice at row 6. Lager made it to the end of the first bar run but then was no more, though there were some Jet Stream loaded.

In terms of food, they were out of the sausage and mash after row 4, then out of the vegetarian rigatoni at row 6 -- those behind sounded very put out by not getting a hot meal. We'd preordered an AVML in anticipation of getting no choice and were happy we did.

The poor crew were extremely apologetic but clearly frustrated at what was loaded.
Loadings of alcohol are clearly just not enough for the inbound on a large percentage of leisure CE flights currently and BA is surely well aware of this. Same happened on my inbound from CFU yesterday, ran out of champagne and Tanqueray mid-flight (fortunately not Diet Coke for once, which always seems to go too). Good crew who were making the best of the hand BA had dealt them but shouldn't be put in the situation in the first place of constantly having to tell passengers 'very sorry but we ran out of that'.
