I would follow GUW's advice below and not worry too much.

BTW, how does it work when you connect to an international flight? Does SAS always get involved in CPH/ARN (as handling agent for LH) checking eligibility for the entire journey? If that is consistent then there should be no check at the gate, or is it more like random spot checks?

LH announced that we would be met at the gate by the polizei because the US is HIGH RISK, but we walked right off the plane.

LH is no more challenging than SK in this regard. There are two gate-keepers potentially: the airline reps doing check-in (and potentially boarding) at CPH; and the airline reps doing document checks in Germany.
