I have had a few flights recently were there are no passengers in rows 8,9,10,11 and 12. Club passengers are relocated to cover take off and landings. As a goldie in row 13 it smarts a bit.
Swiss have been doing that for many years, they seem to place the curtain based on Economy loads rather than Business. I think this crept into BA over the course of the pandemic when there was limited, if any catering in CE, no lounge access and no fast-track. The blocked middle was, literally, the only selling point and with low loads in general a good chance that everyone in Economy would have a row to themselves too!
