Review Sofitel Ambassador Seoul

Just checked into the newly opened Sofitel Ambassador Seoul yesterday for the Korean Foundation day holiday weekend. The hotel is pretty packed with staycationers, as is, most other luxury properties.

So far - really high quality F&B and service. Fait Maison and the rooftop bar are places I would come back for. And the service feels quite polished considering they've only been open a few days. A lot better than the Fairmont in Yeouido too. English levels are better than average but not beating the Four Seasons.

No upgrade because I don't have any Accor status and full occupancy. My Luxury Room was somewhat disappointing compared to the rest of the hotel. More business hotel feeling than Accor flagship and the fire extiguisher probably shouldn't be there?

The views are nothing to write home about. Either Seokchon Lake and Lotteworld amusement park views or the Lotte World Tower.

Bathroom amenities are Diptyque in the wall mounted refillable containers. This is because South Korea is banned single use plastics starting in 2022.

Has a very nice indoor infinity swimming pool. IMO, one of the nicest designs in the city.
