In many American schools in Northern California, every child is tested every two weeks. 100% mandate, irrespective of symptoms and sickness. Proactive testing for newly infected and asymptomatic may not be the best use of funds but it is very proactive and gets corner cases under control.

Incidentally, I just this morning read a memo saying this will change soon and be stopped but it’s been going on for months up until now. Just an example of progressive testing to mitigate infection risk to children and faculty, as well as their families. Doesn’t seem “crazy” to me to be extra careful but then again, why not test for influenza and lice too?
