Help with Toronto Hotel Choice

Hi,

I haven't been to Toronto in over 10 years, I was hoping someone could give me some recommendations. The last time I stayed I stayed on the HGI 1 block over from King street and I thought the location/hotel were great, but it appears this hotel is closed due to Covid?

I'm looking to spend most of my time outside of the city so I am not opposed to also staying outside of the city, but if one of the downtown hotel choices is just killer for location, that's a plus. It also seems the airport hotels charge parking.

My # 1 criteria is simply I want a "newer" feeling hotel. Any suggestions?

My # 2 criteria is location. I would like to be able to walk to shopping, CN tower area, etc.

From my hour of research, I found these:

1) Doubletree Downtown: ($300 USD for my 2 nights)
Doesn't seem to be super new or fancy, but it's downtown and reasonably priced

2) Hilton Downtown: ($436 for my two nights)
Seems nicer but I don't know if it's worth the price increase

3) Double tree (not west one, not downtown) ($251 for 2 nights)
Looks pretty, but it's not that much cheaper than the downtown one.

4) Embassy Suites ($348 for 2 nights)
Looks to be the most new and modern looking from the photos

The embassy looks the nicest, but is it worth paying more and not being downtown?

Any suggestions for an overall good weekend would be appreciated. Note: On my check out day I'm leaving and going to Niagara falls.

Not for the Hilton thread, but I'm also checking out Marriotts just in case someone has a thought there too.
