I have read several pages but want to make sure I understand this correctly as I am not an expert at this yet.

If I book my flight from BOM-FRA-DFW on lufthansa using united miles, and for some reason (either Covid or change of plans) have to cancel the ticket, will I get my miles back? I see that I will have to do that > 31 days before departure as this is originating outside of US. If less than 31 days, I will have to pay redeposit fees. Can someone point me to where the current fees are listed? We are party of 4 and will be booked on a single reservation. TIA.
