Too bad I still have the balance of AA miles I have, as they aren’t getting more valuable anytime soon.

Unfortunately, what AA does will likely also act as a de facto force of depreciation against the”currency” in my mileage account balances with AS, BA, etc.
I don’t understand how AA could take out a $10 billion (?) loan against the value of AAdvantage and then almost immediately devalue AAdvantage, but I guess that’s why I’m not a big-time Wall Street or airline executive.
