Is this only on mixed AA/JL tickets? If all JL or milesaver it should price as 1 award. In any case a ticket wholly within Japan is 7.5k miles so I'm not sure how AA can add 10k.
AA's reward booking engine is now back to showing all trips with domestic tag-on's as 60k each way, as it should be. Mixed AA/JL and pure JL are the same 60k each way in biz class. No idea why I was seeing 70k a few hours earlier.
