Mileage expiration questions: need advice
Because I had to cancel a planned trip to France last year due to Covid, my 166,000 FB miles are due to expire at the end of this year.
The AF site says miles don't expire if:
- you travel at least once every 2 years on an eligible flight with Air France, KLM or one of the partner airlines;
- you're a Silver, Gold or Platinum member;
- you make a purchase with an eligible partner bank card at least once every 2 years.
I'm not a Silver Gold or Platinum member.
A few questions:
1. Am I correct in assuming that the eligible flights must take place this year. I.e., I can't avoid mileage expiration by booking flights this year that I will take next year?
2. Does an award ticket count as eligible flight?
3. What is an eligible partner bank card? Since I'm based in the USA, is is only the Air France/KLM World Elite Mastercard?
4. Is it possible to take a Delta domestic USA flight, credit it to AF, and extend eligibility that way?
All advice welcome. Thanks for any help.
