The OPS itinerary is a morning return & an evening return with a 5+ hour cushion. He will also have AL access in LAX up to 4 times if he chooses to depart the airport between the morning and evening runs. Even if there are delays he should be fine especially if he is returning on the same aircraft.

OP also flying to SJC so delays at Sfo moot then :-)
I was speaking more generally as OP is looking for more segment run ideas. Not all the schedules to/from Sfo line up for big gaps.
