It's ok, I knew what you meant. The point I was making is that due to the vast amounts of Avios seemingly issued by US-based credit cards, BA must be selling them to banks at "knock-down" prices. The other side of that is that BA must recoup the missing revenue by increasing the fees on redeeming those Avios.

So, you may get 1400 Avios for your $1000 spend and I only get 800 but when I redeem a TATL round-trip J ticket it only costs me $482 in fees compared to your $1400. I'd say that the US based traveller actually has a worse deal.
