Nothing has changed regarding COVID restrictions as far as I know. All indoor areas require masks. The Regency Club did check vaccination card (as required by Hawaii state) on my first two days but stopped after they started to recognize me. Obviously since the regency club is open, breakfast and happy hour snacks are there, too.
Had dinner at Japengo two times. Didn’t check vaccination card. I supposed the entire restaurant is considered outdoor? Do make restaurant reservations as early as possible. Only 50% capacity allowed, and many popular restaurants ran out of reservations days out.
They do have a new VIP manager called Eva. She just joined Hyatt in early September. She used to work at a Marriott property nearby. She is incredibly nice and very customer-oriented. One time I emailed her about late check-out on her day-off (I did not know it was her day off). She replied by email and text within an hour. She is amazing and I think will be liked by many of us. Definitely Marriott’s loss and Hyatt’s gain.
Hmmm anything else you want to know? I think the hotel is pretty busy… when I checked in on last Wednesday, the valet said the self-parking lot was full and they would take care of the parking with no additional charge. Not that I care since parking is waived for Globalist on award stay, but that speaks for how busy the hotel is.
Good to know, thank you for the update. Glad to hear about Eva as well. I will have to find her when we arrive.

Their system crashed in the last few days. When I checked in, they could not use the credit card machine to pre-authorize my credit card. They had to write my CC info on a piece of paper. Then days later the system crashed again while still recovering from the previous crash. Perhaps your email fell through the crack.
Wow, thank you for bringing this up to her. I'll definitely reach out to the front desk and/or email that address again. I much appreciate the feedback and help!
