The other thing to check is the description given of the bag. IATA has a seven digit code that goes something like this that World Tracer requires:

BK22HWX.

BK signifies the bag is black.

22 signifies the type of bag. If I remember correctly, 22 means a soft fabric suitcase that opens along the longer side with zip fastners to close it

H signals it has a retractable handle

W signals it has wheels

X signals no additional detail but other letters may be inserted instead to signify something else.

It is also important to accurately describe to airline/handler when opening a World Tracer file three distinctive articles that are in the bag, ideally ones that are easily visible upon opening the bag.

It is amazing how many people when opening World Tracer files can't describe their bag (size, colour, make) accurately and can only say clothes when asked for contents.

If you are able to accurately describe baggage, have it well labeled and can describe contents you increase the likelihood of the bag being found quite a lot.

Many people travel with black soft suitcases with wheels and handles that contain clothes!

But if you ensure the correct code is applied and are able to add other identifying details such as that yours is a Tumi, has a black TSA padlock, a brown leather luggage label attached to top handle and an autobiography of So and So inside, it will make it much easier to potentially find.
