A friend is trying to earn companion pass and is currently 23k shy of 125k. Can she buy 12x business select tickets w/ co-branded card (SW premier 2x) to meet the requirement? I beleive she can, but the bigger question is: if she purchases those tickets today, are the points earned upon purchase, or only upon completion of the booked flights?

ie:
9/27/21 purchased $2000.00 worth of Business Select airfare for herself and I scheduled to fly RT from SAN to MIA on 1/2/2022.
When are the 12x BS and 2x CC points awarded?
