New to United, and really torn about getting a UC membership since I have an AMEX Plat, and most cases have a centurion lounge or PP option, with the exception of my of course, home airport ORD. Another AMEX has a $250 airline fee credit, so its actually only then $400 for the membership; however, a tipping point may be if the agents in the lounge can do more than the normal customer service line if you have status. I felt like back in the day the agents at the Admirals Club could do a lot in terms of getting you confirmed if you were standing by, instead of telling you too bad see a gate agent, etc, not sure if that is the case with UC agents.
