I’ve booked under my father’s Bonvoy account before. If you’re booking in the app, you can edit the name under “guest information”- yours will autofill, but you can just change it to your wife’s name. I imagine you can do this on the website too.

Every time I’ve done this, the folio has come in my name- my father’s doesn’t appear anywhere.
