While no stays at the SACHER so far , recall going in for Sacher torte & coffee , what else ? , with friends from Lisbon , NYC & Singapore . That was 8 . 8 ‘ 88 !!
It was busy from what I recall but not overly so as we got our table . Perhaps it was because they were having an unusual heatwave and we 4 were somewhat “ accustomed “ to horrid humid heat .
Did a TR on Imperial , 2019 stay , the last time back to Vienna .. so you possibly can read it there . Will we return to stay there ? Well , it remains to be seen though they did assure us it would not be a repeat of the poor experience for “ service recovery “ .
Enjoyed the quaint cafe across & the other nearby restaurant for schnitzel too ..

Yes , we do sometimes stay at hotels because of nearby restaurants or offerings onsite .
