This is always tricky, but I think a little easier this time since you say you'll actually be traveling with her. What I would do is book the reservation in my name, add my wife's name as the second guest, ask at check-in if they could switch the names, and then verify at check-out that they did it.
This is what I was thinking, but I don't want to do it if there's any risk at all. If her name isn't top of the folio, she won't get any reimbursement and then it's us paying $4k for her to take a work trip.
