Both AA and UA are purchasing new planes, compared to Delta that it seems is always looking for a deal on second hand used planes. UA’s massive new plane order and retro of current planes will add IFE and UA is increasing the number of premium seats. Whereas Delta is always decreasing the number of D1 seats when planes are retro’d, which makes upgrades harder to come by for PM/GM, etc.
To be fair, Delta does a fantastic job refurbishing the interiors of their secondhand planes, and until recently, all of their widebodies were purchased new.
