The booking process progressed to the last screen where payment to be made. Before making the payment I went to Personal Details in my account, then returned to the booking page - to my surprise, the reservation has generated a PNR, BEFORE making payment, under My Bookings.
So the reservation became "On Hold" without me doing anything. That is fine as long as it has a button for Payment so I can finish the ticketing... Nope, There is no Payment button, other than a Payment Details which pulled up information of unable to retrieve ticket information - OF COURSE there is no ticket information because the purchase is not made yet!
Even after I logged out and logged back in, the booking with PNR remains there but I could not do anything about it, i.e. unable to pay for the purchase!
This is the first time I try to buy a ticket from AF on its own site... Have bought many tickets from many international airlines both the main lines and the LCCs, NEVER see something like AF that a PNR would be generated without payment, but there is NO option to make payment after the reservation became "on hold"...
I gather the "on hold" by accident, would fall off after some time has passed? Or it will take 24 hours to disappear? I hope it will fall off so I can start a new booking, this time will go thru the payment process to purchase the ticket... I dont want to endure the long hold time by calling AF to pay over the phone...
Hope those who are very familiar on AF website would give me some guidance on how to handle the above...
I pretty much had the exact same situation occur to me just a couple of hours ago, although it was on the KLM website. PNR before payment, and the website didn't let me pay anywhere. I called KLM and had the payment done over the phone. The agent then sent me the confirmation email.
