I can not, however, agree with you that I put words into his mouth. These were a direct quote -- I did not make them up. Nor do I consider it mud-slinging. TalkBoard took a position. It is not an obscene position. It is not an illegal position. It is not an immoral position. It is simply a position with which I disagree.

My mentioning that position can not be described as mud-slinging because there was no mud to sling.

As Spiff in no way indicated that he disagrees with that position, and, in fact, he was the one who articulated it on this forum for the TalkBoard, I presumed that he agreed with it.

Again, not only do I apologize for him if I am wrong but I very much hope that I am. Nothing would make me happier to learn that Spiff does not agree with it and, in fact, that the majority of the new TalkBoard does not.
Not mud-slinging? Then why would you start a question pointing out another candidates supposed position? We've just come though months of this type of behavior in the U.S. and maybe I'm just too sensitive to that right now. I just don't understand why you did not present the question, state your own personal opinion and open up the thread for others to answer. That is what I expect from those I voted for yesterday in U.S. national politics and that is what i expect as a member of FlyerTalk. If I wanted to read what Spiff had to say, I am very capable of hearing that from him, not from you. That is the danger of playing the thin line in other's comments. I thought the TalkBoard was going to represent that the focus on FlyerTalk is your own opinion, not the opinions of others in someone else's words - thus trying to not OMNI-ism everything. Apparently I am wrong. This is not directly about you Dovster - it's about the responsibility of being a candidate and being a member of TalkBoard. As a member of FlyerTalk who participated in the process of electing you to the TalkBoard, I, again, expect you to walk the talk.
