I'm a former MP Gold from outside the US, now just a lowly member after burning my stash of 400K miles.

I grabbed a 35K award from BER to HNL via EWR & LAX for next March (to position for a snagged business saver award on Asiana to my final destination PNH. Somewhat insanely, the only way to get me there on my remaining miles balance. I simply don't trust Taiwan to open for transit pax even by then - all options shown from BER were routed via TPE. At least the THAI flight from BKK that was part of the 99% "this will actually not work" pseudo-options was no longer there and we are down to 12 still likely un-useable combos. That's progress).

The question: I already have one bag allowance listed on the e-ticket but parts of the website made it sound like I didn't, so I'm a bit weary what game UA is playing here.

I am considering buying the most expensive bundle for eco+ seating on all 3 flights, Premier Access and "Standard Checked Bag", as it's worded.

Will this really get me a 2nd bag?

Just had a booking with an int'l LH "phantom flight" I had overlooked - hasn't operated since last March - implode on me when it finally got pulled from the system and had to spend an hour fixing it, while encountering incorrect responses, so I'd rather tap the knowledge base accumulated here.
