By doing so, you have fallen victim to the mud-sligging behavior popular in many U.S. style politics, something I really just don't think has a place on FlyerTalk. I really don't know why you had to use that as an example to start the post and make it sound like Spiff was answering the question when in fact, it doesn't seem he had a chance to personally answer because you started that post.
Randy, I said it was his position because I understood it to be that. If I misunderstood him, and it is not his position -- simply the position of the old TalkBoard -- then I apologize to him.

In fact, I very much hope that I was wrong and that Spiff is indeed open to a reconsideration of this matter.

I can not, however, agree with you that I put words into his mouth. These were a direct quote -- I did not make them up. Nor do I consider it mud-slinging. TalkBoard took a position. It is not an obscene position. It is not an illegal position. It is not an immoral position. It is simply a position with which I disagree.

My mentioning that position can not be described as mud-slinging because there was no mud to sling.

As Spiff in no way indicated that he disagrees with that position, and, in fact, he was the one who articulated it on this forum for the TalkBoard, I presumed that he agreed with it.

Again, not only do I apologize for him if I am wrong but I very much hope that I am. Nothing would make me happier to learn that Spiff does not agree with it and, in fact, that the majority of the new TalkBoard does not.
