After several months and several requests for an answer, Spiff said that it had been tabled.

Oddly, despite what Spiff correctly noted in another thread, "Finally, as the TalkBoard liasion, I have been responsible for updating the TownHall with the actions of the TalkBoard. In response to requests for more information about our decisions, results of votes and the voting breakdown were added" there is no announcement on TownHall about this and certainly no voting breakdown.

Spiff has made his own position very clear, "Got burning religious questions? Ask! Don't wait for a new forum to come into existence first. Show the need, then we'll consider. Period.

"There will be no popular votes, alas. That is why we have an elected TalkBoard. You can elect members who share your views, but the current TalkBoard is pretty set in this matter and only 4 of us are up for election."

I would like to know how the other candidates feel on this issue. My own position is that this board should be established but restricted to travel-related religious questions.
Dovster: I personally think you are guilty of the type behavior that has caused some unrest on FlyerTalk. In the above post, while you state it is a question, you go on to say "Spiff has made his own position very clear..." I'm sorry, I don't read that at all. Spiff clearly usues the word "we'll" in your statement. In that case, he seems to be stating the issue on behalf of the TalkBoard. By saying it is his position, you have put words into his mouth that may not be true, and that is exactly the type of behavior that is uncalled for on FlyerTalk. By doing so, you have fallen victim to the mud-sligging behavior popular in many U.S. style politics, something I really just don't think has a place on FlyerTalk. I really don't know why you had to use that as an example to start the post and make it sound like Spiff was answering the question when in fact, it doesn't seem he had a chance to personally answer because you started that post.

You may have ran for the TalkBoard and you may have won a position on that council, but frankly if it is this type of posting manner you are proud of, then I'd ask for a recall. My personal opinion is that if you are going to represent me as a regular member of FlyerTalk, you need to walk the talk.
