This is the finest Marriott property in Athens, no question. I previously stayed next door at the King George.
The service a that at the GB was outstanding as was the rooftop breakfast buffet and Alexander’s lounge. Can’t beat the location right at Syntagma and the doorman Demetris is a legend.
However, I still prefer the Athens Hilton as I’m 100% in getting a suite upgrade with Acropolis view. Plus the Galaxy Bar and their breakfast buffet is also outstanding.
GB has the better location but I like to walk through the National Gardens or Kolanaki to get close to the Plaka or easily take the metro.
Nevertheless, the GB is one of the finest properties in Greece
Thanks for that extra feedback. I could have stayed at the Hilton free but I much preferred this location. But I'll definitely be back to Athens. That's awesome the upgrade is so easy there. I'll consider that for my next stay then.
