Thanks for your point. Yes, we know Turkey is not part of EU, and from what I know, Turkey never close their border since pandemic, but, who had guts to travel last year during mid June 2020 or in the whole year of 2020? Year of 2020 was an INVOLUNTARY choice for all the world travelers.

Turkey Airlines unilaterally voided our tickets and argued that our tickets were expired after one year from our original change in June 2020, regardless it was a voluntary change or not from their point of view, LAX check-in team did not give us any option such as paying a change fee of our original tickets (that is if we should pay it, of course, we would argue about that too if they offered at LAX, but, they DID NOT). The ONLY option they gave us is to purchase a new set of full price business class tickets to get our same seats and same flights back, even the exact same seats on the returning flights.

In conclusion, we paid twice for their one time only service, is that fair? Turkish Airlines advertised they care and flexible on their COVID policy web page, but, they just totally did exact the opposite at LAX. Very greedy and bad business practice!

Our friends thought we were very brave to travel to Turkey as CDC classified Turkey as level 4 before our travel date. We told them we decided to travel because our tickets were going to expire by the end of year. After this horrible experience with Turkish Airlines, we now know Turkish Airlines bad business practice is more dangerous than COVID virus and variances. LOL
