For medicines, have a word with your hotel concierge / reception - they will know a pharmacy who are used to this, the rules on prescribing in Portugal are generally easier than the UK but may be get hubby to scan over a recent prescription for you. Those who are in England can sometimes use the NHS App - the same one used for the COVID QR codes - to demonstrate to a pharmacist why you need certain medicines.
