I was still using a non-“REAL ID” DL to fly around domestically in the US this summer, and I will continue to do so at times for the rest of the next year or two or three. I have skipped every opportunity to get a “REAL ID” DL for myself up to this point, and it hasn’t been a problem for my travels. I’ve had more problems with the TSA accepting my Global Entry card for the ID check than I’ve ever had with using the regular DL for the TSA’s ID checks.
