I voted "prefer real, but will take canned".
It is situational - attending a game, chips with "cheese" and "jalapenos" is part of the ambiance. In a restaurant or at home, the cheese had better have started in something that moos.

(Although I have been known to make nachos at home with Cheez Wiz, canned chili & lots of hot sauce or cayenne... )
