From an old post (2013) here on FlyerTalk: "Simply earn 300 tier points on Virgin Atlantic flights and hold a Gold Flying Club member status for 10 consecutive years, or for the REALLY long standing regular customers - rack up 1 million base flown miles on Virgin Atlantic flights. Resuly - Gold for Life!!"

On the official Virgin Atlantic website, it states that you can earn lifetime gold by being Gold for 10 consecutive years and earning 7500 TP's during that time period.

• Is it still possible to earn LTG by flying 1 million base miles on VS metal?
  • If yes, do award tickets count toward the 1 million base miles?
