EDIT: NV found your review of Sheraton. Looks great too! I'll be there for 5 nights and 2d will be spend exploring old Town, the rest going out the city. So of the 2, which do you recommend?
Personally I prefer Sheraton Grand for the newer hardware and better F&B; I am less bothered than some might be about the 30 minute walk to the old town. If you spend only 2/5 days in the city then the Sheraton location drawback is lessened, also depending where you go during the 3 days out of the city, I have been on day tours which start near Avlabari Metro station which is closer to Sheraton than Marriott so depending on day trips once again location of Sheraton could be "less bad".

Regarding physical 'niceness' Sheraton can feel more grandiose with the huge atrium and open space with all floors looking down at the reception area.
