I've rented 2 ram's before & love it's ride, however the rebel is 1500 vs 1100 for the wrangler.... I've had a Wrangler but the tires were the terrible Badyear's Vs. AT's on Rebel....

Decision?

I'm familiar w/SUV's as I offroad w/ moded Xterra as a hobby.
It was about a year ago, but the one time I rented a Wrangler (at SLC) it was a Sahara. But that doesn't mean it always is.

And keep in mind that rental car trims are often different than retail car trims in some ways. Some car companies customize car trims for rental places.

Are you registered as Avis Preferred? If so (and if you can allow time at arrival for requesting car changes), you may have more possibilities of changing the car you're assigned than if you're not Avis Preferred. And Avis Preferred costs nothing.

And having the option to change the car after inspecting it (especially if you're concerned about something somewhat unpredictable like the tires) can be vital with concerns like yours.
