I had a different experience with Chase/Expedia. I booked air and hotel for the NRA convention in Houston. The NRA cancelled the event the week before it was to start. I received an e-mail from Expedia the next day informing me that they had cancelled my hotel (credited my CC) and my flights. The flights were returned as a credit but I don't consider that to be an issue since I'll use it in the next year anyway. This could have been a real mess but it wasn't.
