Took 4 segments on Lufthansa recently. Tried to get credit on UA, UA asked me to submit my boarding passes, which I did. What fare class were your tickets, and from whom did you purchase them (e.g., Lufthansa, United, travel agency)? Some tickets are not eligible, such as award tickets obviously.
Note that "LT" is not a standard shorthand for Lufthansa, "LH" is the generally recognized one.
