No, it's a fair question and I usually ask if it's not mentioned during the boarding announcements. You probably found an ops agent who was stressed or just having a bad day. Not ideal but we are all human.
As much as you, I and Southwest would like all employees to be cheerful and helpful 24/7 - it just is not going to happen.
Maybe the agent should be home with a sick child. Maybe they just got word they were being switched to a different shift. Maybe they were supposed to be off work today. Maybe they just finished dealing with a few a$$hole customers. Maybe they just made an announcement about this you did not hear. Maybe the information he had indicated a full flight.
There are bigger issues in life to deal with.
