All of the options are around the same points price so I need some advice. First time to Vienna, want to walk around and see the sights so good location is a must along with a nice hotel and lounge. I’ve read the various threads and the Vienna Marriott looked like a good bet but when I see the RC, Bristol, LM and Imperial for pretty much the same amount, wondering what the best overall choice would be. Thanks for any help.
It has been about 3 years since we were there, but we did stay at both the LM and Bristol, and both are around the Opera house. Don't remember seeing a lounge at either one, but we were out most of the time anyway. Thought both were very good, with the Bristol obviously better: UPG'd to Bristol Suite (with SNA's,) great breakfast with everything and anything you might want or need. We were given a small king room to wait in as we arrived early from BKK, but they got the suite ready quickly, so really only had time to shower and get a little breakfast. The LM was different but still like the property, and the room, Exec Larger King, was spacious and more modern. The only issue was the last day we had an early flight to MXP (which got cancelled/delayed over 6 hours) and we went down for breakfast too early it seems as they hadn't put out many of the items, though the first day's breakfast was excellent, just not as over the top as the Bristol's. We walked quite a bit, even walking back from St. Stephan's church (I was disappointed that the pedestrian area around the church was mainly the usual western stores you'd find anywhere, actually everywhere.) Plus one day walked back from a great Isaan Thai restaurant (my GF is Thai,) but there are easy to use buses and streetcars. In addition to the usual bar food places, we also had a decent brat stand in front of the Bristol, and a noodle place a couple of doors down for quick and inexpensive snacks.
